Low Clachaig Colours 24x30cm oil

Low Clachaig, just up the hills from my studio, sitting abandoned for some decades. In my native Kansas, I always found old farmsteads or country houses lost in time, so compelling also. Curtains still in the windows and tools rusting away, nature determined to completely reclaim and cover over all the stories of the people who were here. 

There's a sadness, undeniably, but also the evocative invitation to dwell with the place and imagine children running, 'Time for supper!' called over the wind.
